Adler Worship Ministries: Music

Ten Again

(Michael Adler)
For Jake and Brady.

I look out in the yard and I see innocence
and joy
I remember how that felt when I was
just a boy
I can look back now and reminisce and
think of way back when
Then I close my eyes and make a wish that
I was ten again

If I could be ten again
I could climb a tree and never fall
I could hear the sound of my dad call
I’d dance to music in my head
And I’d pray to God when I went to bed
I’d believe that someday I could fly
I could tell who were the real bad guys
And the best reward was having one great
friend
If I could be ten again

It’s a crazy wish, and only that
It’s just a passing whim
I know my boys know I love Jesus, and
want to be like Him
Still the life before them is behind me now
so I’ll say before I end
It would be just great. I’d never hesitate if I
could be ten again

I know that I might lose my way before I
reach the end
But I’m glad to know the One who says
“You can begin again”

I can begin again
I can climb new heights I can rise up tall
I can hear the voice of my God call
I can dance to songs that my heart sings
I can pray to God for the peace He brings
I believe that someday I will be
In a place that He’s prepared for me
And the best reward is knowing Christ my
friend
Oh the best reward is knowing Christ my
friend
And the best reward is knowing Christ my
friend

Has let me begin...again
